Unknown bone name: bone#

Quite frequently I will receive this error out of the blue - 'Unknown bone name: bone#' with my .FBX files. I use to think this occurred when and only when I tried to animate a bone directly. Unfortunately that is not the case and this gets very frustrating. Even when I start a fresh file and don't apply any keyframes, I get this error.


Is there any way to turn this error off or bypass this in any way?

To be honest I'm not sure.

That error can be reported in 4 places. Each of these places is in code I blatantly copied from Microsoft samples.

If you are happy to, open up the ModelImporter project and find the four exceptions. Replace each with a continue; - this shouldn't (in theory) cause any issues. If this fixes it, then I'll include it by default. Just search for "Unknown bone name: " in ModelImporter.cs. Rebuild the project (Debug) and then the models should rebuild.
